Dar Zin is a medina rooftop restaurant tucked away on Arset Moula Taoula, a quiet lane within easy reach of the souks and Jemaa el-Fna. The kitchen specialises in authentic Moroccan and Berber cooking, with highlights such as slow-cooked beef couscous, fresh hummus and tender tagines served in generous portions that locals and travellers return for.The rooftop terrace is the main draw, framing the medina rooftops and the Atlas Mountains beyond, with the kitchen opening daily from 7am to midnight. Service runs at a leisurely medina pace, which suits the laid-back atmosphere perfectly, and the team are known for sharing insights into local traditions between courses.
If you want a quiet, atmospheric dinner away from the busier tourist terraces near the main square, Dar Zin is a worthy detour. Bring an appetite, take your time, and let the medina reveal itself from the rooftop.

We stopped here for lunch after being turned away from two other busy restaurants and it did not disappoint! The rooftop is nice with a view of the mountains. The service was a little slow but there are a lot of stairs to climb so it’s okay. I would recommend this place for sure!
